Stephanie is on the board of The Video Consortium where she plans monthly screenings for 150+ nonfiction filmmakers around NYC.

As the recipient of a  journalism fellowship in Prague, Stephanie examined the access to support that dyslexic students have in Czech schools. She is a graduate of the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies and graduated summa cum laude, from University of Colorado at Boulder. She lives in Brooklyn, NY—a short walk from her favorite rock climbing gym.

The longer version:

Before moving to NY, Stephanie freelanced as a video journalist and documentary photographer in Chicago. She was the DP on a documentary about a large family embracing special needs adoptions. In 2016, she was the multimedia intern at Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty in Prague, Czech Republic.

Stephanie has worked with the Kindling Group, a socially-minded documentary production house in Chicago. She acted as second camera on a project about early childhood education. In summer 2015, as a winner of the Bakala Foundation Fellowship, Stephanie documented the access to support that dyslexic students have in school in the Czech Republic.

Stephanie is a graduate of The Salt Institute for Documentary Studies.  Her final photography story was published on the storytelling website, Narratively.  This story documented women studying to be midwives over the span of several months, and explored the bond that the women forged with their own classmates.

After graduating Summa cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2011, Stephanie worked as the only photographer at a medical school in Chicago before pursuing documentary storytelling.
